When Abu Dhabi organisations call us
Most of our Abu Dhabi work starts with one of these:
- A Department of Health deadline for ADHICS compliance
- A government or critical-sector contract that requires UAE IA (NESA) compliance
- Setting up or growing in ADGM and needing data protection and FSRA cyber requirements in place
- A client, bank or auditor asking for a penetration test report or ISO 27001 certificate
- A suspected breach, ransomware or phishing incident that needs incident response
- No security lead in-house and a need for a virtual CISO
Not sure which rules apply to you? Licence type and location decide it. An ADGM company and a mainland company can face different laws for the same data. We map this in the first call.

Which cybersecurity rules apply in Abu Dhabi?
The main frameworks Abu Dhabi organisations deal with, and who they apply to. Many organisations fall under more than one.
| Framework | Applies to | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| ADHICS | Healthcare entities licensed by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi | Department of Health Abu Dhabi |
| UAE IA Standard (formerly NESA) | Federal government entities and critical-sector organisations, and often their suppliers | UAE Cyber Security Council |
| ADGM Data Protection Regulations 2021 | Companies registered in ADGM | ADGM Office of Data Protection |
| UAE PDPL | Mainland companies and free zones without their own data protection law | UAE Data Office, now part of the UAE AI and Data Authority |
| CBUAE regulations | Banks and financial institutions licensed by the Central Bank | Central Bank of the UAE |

What affects the cost of cybersecurity services in Abu Dhabi
Every engagement gets a written scope and a fixed fee. These are the factors that move it:
- The service
- A penetration test, a compliance programme and a managed service are priced differently.
- Size and scope
- The number of staff, sites, systems and applications involved.
- Frameworks
- Meeting one framework, or several at once (for example ADHICS with ISO 27001).
- Starting point
- Existing policies, controls and certifications that can be reused.
- On-site time
- How much of the work needs to happen at your Abu Dhabi premises.
- Deadline
- A fixed regulator or client date can need more consultant time each week.

Frequently asked questions
Does Intello have an office in Abu Dhabi?
Our office is in Dubai (Office 26, Madina Mall, Al Qusais). We serve Abu Dhabi clients on site for workshops, testing and audits, and remotely the rest of the time. Most engagements need only a few on-site days.
Which cybersecurity regulations apply in Abu Dhabi?
It depends on your sector and licence. Healthcare entities licensed by the Department of Health must meet ADHICS. Federal entities and critical sectors follow the UAE IA Standard. ADGM companies follow the ADGM Data Protection Regulations 2021, and most other companies fall under the federal UAE PDPL. Banks also follow Central Bank rules.
Is ADHICS mandatory in Abu Dhabi?
Yes, for healthcare entities licensed by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, including hospitals, clinics, labs and pharmacies. The level of controls required depends on the facility type. See our ADHICS compliance page for details.
Does the UAE PDPL apply in ADGM?
No. ADGM has its own data protection law, the ADGM Data Protection Regulations 2021, overseen by the ADGM Office of Data Protection. The federal PDPL applies to mainland Abu Dhabi and free zones without their own data protection law. Groups with entities in both need to meet both.
How do I choose a cyber security company in Abu Dhabi?
Look for experience with the rules that apply to you, such as ADHICS, the UAE IA Standard or ADGM, qualified testers and auditors, clear fixed-fee scopes, and the ability to work on site in Abu Dhabi. Ask for sample reports and references from organisations like yours.
How much do cybersecurity services cost in Abu Dhabi?
It depends on the service and scope. A penetration test is priced by the number of applications and systems; a compliance programme by company size, sites and frameworks. We give a written scope and fixed fee after a free consultation.
Can you help after a cyber attack in Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Call +971 55 355 6787. Our digital forensics and incident response team helps contain the attack, investigate what happened, recover systems and meet any reporting duties to regulators.
Do you work with Abu Dhabi government suppliers?
Yes. Suppliers to federal and Abu Dhabi government entities are often asked to show controls in line with the UAE IA Standard or ISO 27001. We help them meet these requirements and pass client audits.
